Simon Le Bon

Simon Le Bon (born Simon John Charles Le Bon on October 27, 1958) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the lead singer of the band Duran Duran.

  • Early Life: Le Bon was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England. He attended Pinner County Grammar School and later studied drama at the University of Birmingham before pursuing his music career.

  • Duran Duran: He joined Duran Duran in May 1980, replacing the previous singer, and helped propel the band to international fame with their blend of new wave, pop, and stylish music videos. He contributed to some of the band's most iconic hits, including "Rio," "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Ordinary World", "The Reflex" and "A View to a Kill."

  • Solo Projects: While primarily known for his work with Duran Duran, Le Bon has also been involved in solo projects. In 1985, while Duran Duran was on hiatus, he formed the band Arcadia with fellow Duran Duran members Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor.

  • Sailing: Le Bon is a keen sailor and even nearly lost his life during the 1985 Fastnet race.

  • Personal Life: He married model Yasmin Parvaneh in 1985, and they have three daughters.
